According to the USA Today Article "More states let students opt out of P.E. classes," an incresing number of students are able to opt out of P.E. classes due to a variety of reasons. Besides students with disabilities, in some cases students can opt out if they are cheerleaders, take marching band or complete on line courses. The article leads the reader to believe that this is not done for the students benefit, but to say schools money.
